Epic Records has named British singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost their new president. Ghost is best known for co-writing James Blunt’s mega-smash “Beautiful,” as well as the Shakira/Beyonce hit “Beautiful Liar.” Other artists Ghost has worked with include Britney Spears, Kanye West, Boy George and The Prodigy. She also fronts her own band, Amanda Ghost.

“I’m not a conventional choice as a music business executive,” Ghost admitted in a statement. “[But] I’m here to draw on my experiences as an artist, songwriter and producer to make the new and existing artists signed to Epic as brilliant and successful as possible.”

Unlike other musician/record company president appointees like Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri, Ghost has not seen much chart success with her own music. In her new role, Ghost will oversee the careers of such diverse Epic artists as Franz Ferdinand, Jennifer Lopez, and Ozzy Osbourne. She also says she will continue to co-write songs.
