Weezer And Ryan Adams Write A Song Together

Videos by American Songwriter

Here’s a pairing we never saw coming:

“I just wrote a song with Ryan Adams,” Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo tells MTV Radio. “Not Bryan, Ryan. It’s a very stirring and emotional and powerful Weezer song. He was really inspiring to work with. … He has a lot of wild and crazy energy. It’s gonna be on the Weezer record. He plays lead guitar on it, but it will be on the Weezer record, for sure.”

According to his Facebook page, Adams is writing songs again for an upcoming record, and preparing Ryan Adams & The Cardinals III/IV, an album that’s been in the can since 2006 (and hopefully contains a cover of “Stairway To Heaven”).  Weezer, fresh from their polarizing set at Bonnaroo, have also been in the news for “Represent,” a song they penned in honor of the World Cup.
