One of the latest artists to be taken under Jack White’s color-coordinated wing is Laura Marling. For Third Man Records’s Blue Series, she has recorded covers of Jackson C. Frank’s “Blues Run The Game” and Neil Young’s “The Needle And The Damage Done,” both produced by White. A 7” containing the songs will be released on November 9, with a limited tri-color edition available only at Rough Trade East in London.
A key member of the thriving London folk scene, the 20-year-old Marling has already released two Mercury-nominated solo albums, and was formerly a member of the band Noah and the Whale.
