Videos by American Songwriter

With 40 million records sold and 16 #1 singles, the late country music icon Waylon Jennings has left a storied legacy.

On February 8th, ScatterRecords and Big Machine will release the first of three volumes of Waylon Jennings’ most loved music, as performed by his admirers: Kris Kristofferson, Patty Griffin, Trace Adkins, John Hiatt, James Otto, Sunny Sweeney, Randy Houser, Alabama, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, and Jessi Colter.

The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, Vol. 1 includes tracks: “This Time,” “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way,” “I’m A Ramblin’ Man,” “Belle of the Ball,” “Good Hearted Woman,” “Rose In Paradise” and many more.

Vol. 2 will follow on June 14 (a day prior to what would have been Waylon’s 74th Birthday), and the final volume to be released this Fall (a day prior to Waylon and Jessi’s 42nd Wedding Anniversary). Check out the track list for Vol. 1 below.

Says Waylon’s son, Shooter Jennings: “There have been several tribute albums made in my father’s honor, all of which were great tributes to his legacy. But this one has been a true passion project for a lot of artists and friends who truly wanted to remember and give back to the wonderful man he was. In the years since my dad passed away, I’ve grown as an artist and I feel this is the first time I’ve truly been able to give back to the man who inspired, influenced and nurtured me and my musical passion.”
