Video Premiere: Matthew Mayfield, “Missed Me”

Videos by American Songwriter

Southern singer-songwriter Matthew Mayfield recently dropped his debut full-length album, Now You’re Free. If the past is any indication, the record should do well; his last EP (and seventh in three years), Matthew Mayfield & The Blue Cut Robbery, took him to #1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart last year. Mayfield raised the scratch to make Now You’re Free through Pledge Music, where he sold handwritten lyrics, intimate demos, and curios from his studio to his growing fanbase.

We’re proud to debut the brand new, heartwarming video for lead single “Missed Me,” a song which is featured on the Songs Of Love For Japan charity compilation. The clip was directed by Kinora Films. You can get a free download of “Missed Me” here.

  1. Matthew Mayfield is not only incredible singer-songwriter, but also the same as a person. He’s genuine, heartfelt, and works hard to get his music out to the masses, and is fantastic to his fans! I predict many, many blessings for Matthew, and he’s one deserving person for it.

  2. I’m digging the new song and vid! Throwing down a shout-out to your home state is a nice touch, but rocking out with the challenged folks? You’ve got a big damn heart buddy. Great job Matthew, looking forward to catching your show at The Mink next month!

  3. Matthew is an amazing songwriter and musician but most of all a caring individual. You can see and hear it in every song he writes. When you hear him sing, you know it’s not for the money or just to be a musician. It’s because it’s in his soul, his heart. A great musician that always performs a live show you’ll love if you ever get the chance to see him play…It’s a must see!!
