Scott Weiland Covers Radiohead, St. Vincent Covers Tom Waits, Ryan Adams Covers Iron Maiden

Is there some sort of competition going on? Artists have been covering each other like mad recently, as if there was a secret plan to increase everybody’s royalty statements or something.

Yesterday we told you about The Strokes’ tag-team with Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker on The Cars classic “Just What I Needed.” Today, we’re bringing you links to Scott Weiland (who has his own covers album now) doing his very best Radiohead impression on OK Computer’s Let Down, St. Vincent channeling her inner hobo on Tom Wait’s “Tango Till They’re Sore,” and Ryan Adams paying homage to his metal loving roots on Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years.” Elsewhere, Willie Nelson has opted to cover Coldplay’s “The Scientist” for Chipotle. And The Hold Steady just gave Huey Lewis some love. Looks like the heart of rock and roll is still beatin’.
