On July 16 – 20, 2012, Thompson will host his Frets and Refrains Acoustic Guitar and Songwriting Camp at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY. He’ll teach master guitar classes and songwriting classes, and his son, recording artist Teddy Thompson, will offer instruction as well. Other camp “counselors” include Martin Simpson, Simon Tassano and Sloan Wainwright.

“This is very much my dream teaching event,” says Thompson. “The setting is beautiful, our teachers are the best, and I expect this to be an intimate and rewarding experience for all participants. Myself, Martin Simpson, Teddy Thompson and Sloan Wainwright will be in attendance throughout, answering questions and being as ‘hands-on’ as possible. Whether you are a guitarist, singer, songwriter, or any combination of these, we will offer ways to improve, rethink and enhance your playing, composing and performing skills.”

The camp also boasts “jam sessions, hikes, swimming and delicious food.” For more information, visit http://www.fretsandrefrains.com.
