Videos by American Songwriter

Mumford and Sons are the latest band to record a live session for Daytrotter, and there’s is certainly among the most unique.

The band cut their session during their Gentlemen of the Road tour, capturing the eight recordings in a high school auditorium in Dixon Illinois and their own tour bus.

Joining them on this collection of covers and standards (and one track from Babel) are tourmates Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Abigail Washburn, and Nathaniel Ratcliffe.

The highlight may be “Atlantic City,” from Bruce Springsteen’s stark Nebraska album, which the Mumford’s spin into sonic gold.

They also pay homage to Bob Dylan, the man they shared the Grammy stage with in 2011, with the plaintive Bootleg Series track “I Was Young When I Left Home.”
