Moon Taxi is hitting the road with Tea Leaf Green for a co-headlining tour.
The Nashville quintet, formed in 2006, has played some of its biggest shows ever this year, including a stop at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. But before calling it a year, Moon Taxi will hit the South for one last good run, culminating in an opening spot for Umphrey’s McGee at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.
Other tour highlights include a stop at the Bama Theater for a Halloween show, and a trip back home to Nashville to ring in New Year’s at 3rd and Lindsley.
“This has been one hell of a year for us,” says Moon Taxi guitarist/vocalist Trevor Terndrup. “With the record release and some touring success under our belts, we intend to finish 2012 strong. First we are excited for our co-headlinig fall tour with Tea Leaf Green which includes a Halloween show at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Then we will head north to play the Bowery Ballroom in New Yok City on December 1st. On the 30th of December we will play the Tabernacle in Atlanta for the first time with fellow rockers Umphrey’s McGee. Finally, we head home for our own ceremonial NYE show in Nashville. Such an exciting way to round out the year!”

“Starry Nights has grown into a staple festival for Moon Taxi,” says Terndrup. “We have had the privilege of watching it grow into the veritable fall event of the southeast.
