What Goes On: If you’ve ever seen Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, this is like that, but on acid.
Songwriter Says: “This song co-mingles a number of threads: the uncanny, visceral horror of an invasive arthropod, an inability to face up to one’s emotions leading to dissipation into subhuman routines, questions of surface vs substance,” says frontman Dave Shuford. “The upful energy and vibrance of the music contrasts with the existential dread laced into the lyrics. I originally set out to write a song with no rhyme scheme, but the first couplet of the chorus soon jumped into my head so I relented quickly on my initial idea. Plans sometimes should be rerouted in the face of inspiration!”
