The Artist: Afro sporting So-Cal rock outfit Andy Frasco and the U.N.

The Song: “Main Squeeze,” from Half a Man, out June 3.

Fun Fact: After checking out the “Happy”-esque video, watch the making-of-video below.

Liner Notes: “‘Main Squeeze’ is a song I originally wrote back in 2009,” says Frasco. “It’s a pretty straight forward song about what life on the road is like and the struggles of trying to maintain a relationship and connection with someone you care about. It’s about a lost love and the lengths we, as men, can go to to try and convey to that person how we feel about them and what we are willing to do to try and show them how we feel and win them back. It can be a difficult balance to maintain, being out on the road 200 days a year while trying to chase your passion and dreams. This version of ‘Main Squeeze’ has been retooled into a more soulful, upbeat Motown feeling record and I really like the sort of contradictory feel that it gives to an otherwise lyrically despondent song.
