ARTIST: Ryan Tanner

SONG: Days To Think Of You

BIRTHDATE: June 4

HOMETOWN: Salt Lake City

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville

AMBITIONS: Keep writing, Keep singing. Holding on long enough to get really good.

TURN-OFFS: A Cruel Heart

TURN-ONS: A Kind Heart

DREAM GIG: Anything with Buddy Miller. Even getting him coffee or washing his car.

FAVORITE LYRIC: “Far From Me” John Prine. “A question ain’t really a question, if you know the answer too.” Sweet Lord, that is amazing.

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: Jim Lauderdale. If by crazy, you mean crazy cool.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “House Where Nobody Lives” by Tom Waits

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Joe Henry, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams & John Prine. Steve Earle shows up late and kicks my ass for not being invited.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Seeing Bruce Springsteen and the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, hard-rocking, booty-shaking, love-making, earth-quaking, death-defying, legendary E Street Band.

I WROTE THIS SONG: I played hooky from my factory job when i was living in slc and drove to a park where i spent a lot of time as a kid. there was a big beautiful tree that looked like it had a story to tell me, so i sat there under her branches and let her whisper it in my ear. it’s about losing someone you love, and all you’ll ever really have left are days to think about everything you did wrong.
