Wild Cub and the Apache Relay are headlining the sixth annual Billy Reid Shindig in historic Muscle Shoals, Alabama next week, and it looks to be one hell of a party.
Festivities begin Thursday, August 14 with a special dinner from James Beard Award winning chef Ashley Christensen, best known for her many acclaimed restaurants across North Carolina.
The Shindig kicks off in earnest, though, on Friday, with a sample sale opening to the public at 10 am and continuing through Sunday. Throughout the two-day celebration, attendees will be treated to photography installations and a Q&A from famed photographer/director Danny Clinch, bicycle tours of downtown Florence, the annual Billy Reid employee baseball game, and, of course Southern food in all its incarnations.
In addition to Friday night’s headlining show at The Shoals Theater, the Shindig will feature an afternoon of music from Dan Dyer, Dylan LeBlanc, Nikki Lane and more. Billy Reid has been hosting the Shindig for six years now, with the multi-day summer party playing host to artists like St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Tift Merritt, and the Alabama Shakes since its inception.
