Looking for a free contest that only takes a burst of inspiration and a few minutes to enter?

Today Fiverr launched The Big Hook, a month-long contest inviting artists, songwriters and musicians to write and perform an original, 30-second song hook (any genre) for a shot to win a trip to Nashville TN for a mini-boot camp of sorts which includes co-writing sessions, a full demo, some industry meetings and more.  Some of YouTube’s biggest music influencers — including Anthony Vincent (of “10 Second Songs” fame); Hannah Trigwell; Louisa Wendorff; Andrew Huang, one of our favorite up-and-comers, Christian Lopez and more will judge The Big Hook contest finalists.

  • Grand Prize: All-expenses-paid trip to a prestigious Nashville songwriting bootcamp, courtesy of Songspace music network. Bootcamp includes music mentoring sessions; co-writing sessions; studio recording time; consideration for representation from Riptide Music Group for television and film placement; and free membership in a performing rights organization of his or her choice.
  • Second Place:$2,000 + $300 Fiverr credit
  • Third Place: $1,000 + $200 Fiverr credit

“We can’t all be Taylor Swift or appear on The Voice. But The Big Hook will help a talented artist break into a tough industry and perhaps even launch a promising career,” said Micha Kaufman, co-founder and CEO, Fiverr. “Fiverr presents a modern opportunity for talented artists to hunt for that next gig. Instead of waiting tables, these musicians can earn extra income doing what they really love.”

Now through June 24, contest hopefuls can submit a video of their 30-second hook on https://www.fiverr.com/thebighook. After a round of public voting, Fiverr will narrow down the top 50 finalists before the YouTube star judges take over. Fiverr will announce the Grand Prize winner in early July.
