I saw her from across the room
So I walked over and pulled up a bar stool
I made her laugh with my first line
I was hoping to make her mine
So I asked her for a dance
She said a guy like me ain’t got a chance
And I said,
“I play the lottery knowing I won’t win
I pray to God even when I’ve sinned
I spend my nights looking for love
And I was hoping that you’d be the one
Walking over here might’ve been a mistake
But you miss all the shots that you don’t take.”
As I got up to leave
She took me by the hand
Said, “Is this just a part of your plan?”
Well I laughed, said,
“What are you doing for the rest of your life?”
She said, “Let’s just start with tonight. “
And I said,
“I play the lottery knowing I won’t win

I was hoping that you’d be the one
Walking over here might’ve been a mistake

It’s a few months later
and today she’s walking down the aisle
The right kinda crazy, the right kinda wild
I played the lottery not knowing I would win
God sent an angel to forgive me of my sins
I spend my nights in the arms of the one I love
And I wake up next to the one
Walking over there sure wasn’t a mistake
And I’m glad I took the shot, I almost didn’t take
