Converse has announced that its Rubber Tracks recording program will be holding its latest pop-up event at the historic Grand Victor Sound studio in Nashville.
The program gives musicians of all genres the opportunity to record original music with professional engineers for no cost. When the session is over, the artist keeps the rights to the recording.
The pop-up event will take place from Monday, Nov. 30 through Friday, Dec. 4 and will be the program’s first visit to Music City. The Rubber Tracks initiative has previously made stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Montreal, Hamburg, Mexico City, Barcelona and other cities around the world.
“As the birthplace of some of the greatest acts in music history, Nashville has a deep-rooted connection to music and we’re thrilled to bring the Converse Rubber Tracks experience to the city for the first time,” said Jed Lewis, Converse Global Music Marketing Director, in a release. “Converse is dedicated to thriving music communities world-wide, and we hope to inspire Nashville’s next generation of emerging artists by providing them valuable resources through this platform.”
While Converse may seem like an odd backer for music ventures, they’ve been dabbling in music for years with their “3 Artists, 1 Song” series. Musicians who have contributed to the series include Pharrell, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash, Frank Ocean, Gorillaz and more.
