ARTIST: The Shades

SONG: “Take You Home”

HOMETOWN: Buffalo Grove, Illinois if you’re Mark or Phil; Flemington, New Jersey if you’re Andrew

CURRENT LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois

AMBITIONS: Mainly, we want to keep singing, live and on record, as long as there are still ears out there that crave three-part harmony. If we’re being picky, we would like for our fourth album to go triple-platinum. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

TURN-OFFS: St. Louis Cardinal fans, anyone who talks about themselves too much and of course, the dreaded fork scraping across the plate. How does that not make everyone cringe?!

TURN-ONS: A quick wit–anyone who can keep us on our toes, intellectually speaking, can usually command our undivided attention.

DREAM GIG: WRIGLEY FIELD.  Playing a sold-out show inside the Friendly Confines would be a dream come true.

FAVORITE LYRIC: “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” A damn-near perfect summary of what life is truly about in one sentence. Thanks, Paul.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: “C’mon Talk” by Bernhoft, “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder, or “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. Don’t tell me you don’t wish you had a handle on that riff ten years ago.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Jesus, The Beatles. We’d like to help settle once and for all John’s true intentions behind the “bigger than Jesus” comment, and we want JC there to hear it. Also, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, and John Mayer.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: This past summer at Lollapalooza we got to see Paul McCartney live for the first time in our lives…hands down the most incredible concert experience we’ve ever had.

I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE… We were feeling particularly irritated by the fact that the woman we were pursuing at the time had better poker faces than we did. So we did something practical: we wrote a song!

Premiere: The White Buffalo’s “Wish It Was True” from Guitar Center Sessions
