Juvenilia, the work of a budding artist created amid the throes of puberty, is usually best left to rot in the basement or attic of one’s childhood home, or remain lost somewhere in the nether regions of cyberspace on a forgotten MySpace profile. But there are always exceptions, and one of these appears to be the first recorded album by The Weeks, the swampy rock and roll band from Mississippi whose last two albums were released on Kings of Leon’s Serpents and Snakes label.

The previously unreleased effort is called Lost Days and was recorded when the band members were 14 and 15 years old.

“Ten years is a long time no matter how you look at it, especially when it comes to the life of a band,” The Weeks said. “Anything you do in junior high, you tend to relish in the fact that you will change and grow. Whatever you did in those days won’t shake loose from your cement shoes and come floating to the surface for everyone to see. Not The Weeks. We’re proud of our past.”
