Amazon, along with Lionsgate TV, is developing a television series inspired by Bob Dylan’s lyrics, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. The show – which is currently titled Time Out of Mind after Dylan’s 1997 album of the same name – would air on Amazon and is the project of Australian writer-director Josh Wakely.

Reports indicate that the project has secured the rights to use Dylan’s expansive catalogue, and that the show would center on characters and story threads that are connected throughout Dylan’s songs. Each episode is said to feature bits of Dylan’s songs – possibly covered by other artists – that will support the storyline and serve as a soundtrack. However, official details regarding the storyline or a pilot episode are yet to be announced, as the project is still in development.

Wakely, whose production company Grace will co-produce the show with Lionsgate, made news a couple of months ago with another music-based television series. Netflix announced that his children’s show Beat Bugs will premiere in August. The animated program will tell stories inspired by Beatles songs, and includes covers from artists like Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell and Sia.
