Watch Eric Bachmann’s New Video for the Doo Wop-inspired “Mercy”

Eric Bachmann - Marcy video

Videos by American Songwriter

Eric Bachmann started making music decades ago as the frontman of indie rock outfit Archers of Loaf and then with Crooked Fingers following AOL’s initial demise in the ‘90s. Now, the North Carolina musician is back with the release of his self-titled solo album and a music video for the track “Mercy.” Check out the video below.

“Mercy” opens with a beat reminiscent of Phil Spector’s production on the Ronettes’ “Be My Baby” and sees Bachmann on a mission to retrieve a hard drive in this James Bond-esque, ’70s cinematic style video. Bachmann successfully retrieves the device — which contains his music — but only after an intense game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.
