Guy Charles Clark, the legendary Texas-born songwriter who passed away Tuesday morning in Nashville following a lengthy illness at the age of 74, has a been a frequent subject in the pages of American Songwriter magazine since its founding in 1984. As much as any artist, Clark epitomized what it meant to be a masterful songwriter — he was a consummate craftsmen with an uncommon and unshakeable sense of editorial integrity, remaining committed to his calling until the very end. We will surely miss him.
