Lou Reed, filmmaker? The iconic rocker has teamed up with Ralph Gibson to shoot Red Shirley, a documentary on Reed’s cousin, Shirley Novack, who recently turned 100-years-old. Novack spins her life story as new music from Reed’s Metal Machine Trio plays in the background. The film will debut in Switzerland in next month. Check out the trailer below.

The Arctic Monkeys, who we recently enjoyed drinks with, slipped a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Strange” into their track “Fluorescent Adolescent” during a recent gig in Valencia, Spain. When British indie rock bands sing classic country songs, good things happen.

Glenn Campbell is planning one last album, Ghost On The Canvas, and a farewell tour, for later this year. “It’s not your mother’s Glen Campbell,” producer Julian Raymond tells Billboard of the upcoming album, which will feature a full orchestra. “He’s playing guitar better than ever, singing and writing better than ever. It’s really going to be a great final statement from him.” The album’s title track was penned by Paul Westerberg, who’s “Sadly Beautiful” Campbell covered on his 2008 covers album, Meet Glenn Campbell (“Tell Glen I’ll be his next Jimmy Webb,'” Westerberg quipped, when he learned that Campbell was a fan). Guests for Ghost include Jakob Dylan, Bob Pollard from Guided By Voices, Wendy Melvoin and members of the Dandy Warhols.
