Norah Jones has made quite an impact on the music world since her debut in 2002. And not just in terms of album sales. Throughout her career, she’s proved herself to be a worthy duet partner to musicians spanning multiple genres, from Willie Nelson to Ray Charles to Foo Fighters to OutKast.
On November 2nd, Blue Note will release …Featuring, an album that collects all of her high-profile collaborations from the past nine years.
“It’s so exciting and flattering and fun when I get asked to sing with somebody that I admire,” says Jones. “It takes you a little bit out of your comfort zone when you’re doing something with another artist. You don’t know what to expect—it’s kind of like being a little kid and having a playdate.”
A lot of the people on this record are people I’ve worshiped since I was a kid, and some of them are younger and more my contemporaries,” she continues. “Even though the musicians are so varied, the vibe of the songs makes sense when we put them all together.”

Just for the record, these don’t even come close to representing all of Jones’ collaborations from the last decade. She’s amazing on the records of guitarist Jim Campilongo, as well as at least one disc by her old friend (and killer songwriter) Richard Julian. Adam Levy, Peter Malick (though I think that one was recorded before she became famous), Jools Holland … there are a bunch more. Looks like Blue Note chose the highest-profile collaborators for this comp, though.
