Videos by American Songwriter

2011 marks the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam’s first release, Ten. Plans continue to be made to insure that 2011 will be the year of Vedder, McCready, Gossard, Ament, and Cameron. Here’s a brief look at what fans of America’s most successful plaid-laden grunge rockers can expect to see in the months to come:

· A deluxe box set reissue of their second and third albums, Vs. and Vitalogy, with never-before-heard tracks (alternate versions of “Corduroy” and “Betterman”), an entire Boston show from 1994, and a cassette from their Monkeywrench radio series.

· A Cameron Crowe documentary chronicling the band’s entire career. Bassist Jeff Ament describes it to Rolling Stone as “Cameron’s love letter to us,” saying that it is equal parts good and bad times. Fans can expect the documentary in late summer 2011.

· Lastly, fans can expect a “weekend bash” around the time the documentary comes out. After playing hundreds of festivals, Pearl Jam knows what makes a festival go from good to great. Manager Kelly Curtis says that it will most likely be a two-day event with other bands and Pearl Jam headlining both nights.

Details and definite dates for the “weekend bash,” documentary premiere, and box set release are yet to come.
