Jack White will perform on Saturday Night Live in the next live episode March 3. It will be White’s first television appearance in support of his debut album Blunderbuss, out April 24.

M. Ward‘s forthcoming album A Wasteland Companion will be released on April 10th. The first single, “Primitive Girl” is now streaming and available for purchase.

Bruce Springsteen‘s new song “Shackled And Drawn” is now streaming on RollingStone.com in preparation for his album Wrecking Ball, due out March 6th. Springsteen will be releasing each track online before the album hits stores.

For Rolling Stone, Steve Martin cheerfully performed “Me and Paul Revere,” with bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers in a Brooklyn loft.

Deer Tick will digitally release their five-song EP Tim on February 28, 2012. The EP, now available for streaming, includes four unreleased songs and an acoustic version of the single “Main Street.” The EP will also be available on 10″ vinyl during the band’s spring tour.

Jay Farrar, Will Johnson, Anders Parker and Yim Yames will release New Multitudes, a 12-song album on February 28th. Each of the songs are based on their musical interpretations of Woody Guthrie lyrics. The album is available for pre-order, and is currently streaming on TeamCoco.com.

Singer-songwriter Josh Ritter released his new six-song EP Bringing in the Darlings today. An entirely stop-motion music video for the song “Love Is Making Its Way Back Home” premiered today on Etsy.

Bob Seger, Don Schlitz, Gordon Lightfoot, the Fantastiks composers and Meat Loaf collaborator Jim Steinman have been announced as the inductees for this year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame. The awards will be held June 14 in New York City.

Cleveland native Conor Standish, the lead singer and songwriter of The Burning River Ramblers, is the grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest’s Valentine’s Day Love Song Contest, with his song “Stranger on the Street.” Conor won recording gear and an Epi Dot Guitar from Epiphone, and his song will go on to the annual songwriting contest in May 2013, competing for $20,000 cash and a performance at Vans Warped Tour.

Antioch, Tennessee musician Josh Doyle has been selected as “the nation’s top undiscovered singer-songwriter” in Guitar Center’s Singer-Songwriter competition. He topped more than 17,000 entries, winning $10,000 cash, new gear from Fender, Taylor, Ernie Ball and Shure and the chance to record a three-song EP with Grammy award-winning producer John Shanks.
