Song Premiere: A Rocket to the Moon, “First Kiss”

Videos by American Songwriter

Folk-pop band A Rocket to the Moon will release their new EP That Old Feeling on October 2nd via Fueled By Ramen. On the 17th, they’ll launch their club tour in Nashville, where That Old Feeling was recorded with producer Mark Bright (Rascall Flatts, Carrie Underwood).

Check out the single “First Kiss,” a heart-on-your-sleeve love song.

“We wrote ‘First Kiss’ about something that everybody goes through,” lead singer Nick Santino tells American Songwriter. “This song was inspired by Nicholas Sparks, I guess you could say. Our love for chick flicks is rather obvious (or pathetic). The Notebook, A Walk to Remember… all the good ones!

“[Bassist] Eric Halvorsen and I both had our first kisses during the movie A Walk to Remember… not with each other, or together… or even remotely close to each other…But anyway… This is a song about growing old and still being in love with the person you met when you were a kid. This is a good song with a positive message.”
