Daily Discovery: Jacob Thomas, “Picture Of You”

Videos by American Songwriter

ARTIST: Jacob Thomas

SONG:Picture Of You

BIRTHDATE: Oct. 30

BIRTHPLACE: Louisiana

AMBITIONS: I’d like to live forever young.

TURN-OFFS: Ed Hardy, blondes, pets, insecurity,  bad teeth, people who talk loudly on airplanes or cell phones, “jamming,” Generic brand Oreo’s or Q-tips, Pulp, The Crimson Tide, stale or flat anything.

TURN-ONS: The creative process, a perfectly fitted suit, a guitar that is older than me, vinyl, bullshitting, the New Orleans Saints, great food, the Fall in Nashville, delayed pleasure.

DREAM GIG: Playing at halftime at The Super Bowl.

TV ADDICTIONS: The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margret, Arrested Development, Louis, The entire 30 for 30 series.

CELEBRITY CRUSH: I’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes thinking about this. My gut says Natalie Portman, my heart says Katrina Bowden, my penis says Megan Fox and my mind says my girlfriend will be pissed by this line of questioning.

WHAT MAKES A WOMAN SEXY: The perfect mixture of confidence, humor, culture, style, taste, fitness, independence, culinary savvy, security, wisdom, brains and a very, very short sexual history.

5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN: A tailored suit, a record player, the Bible, a handgun and the directors cut of Goodfellas on Blu-ray.

I NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT: being sure I lock the door behind me.

I WROTE THIS SONG: as a recap of a few years of my life that included leaving Louisiana, a divorce and accepting that the life that chose me is one that is incredibly unpredictable, but never dull.
