Revered songwriter Guy Clark is set to release his first studio album in four years, My Favorite Picture Of You, on July 23 via Dualtone Records.

The album’s title track was written as an homage to Clark’s wife of 40 years, Susanna Clark, who passed away in the summer of 2012.

The photo of Susanna that Clark sings about will be featured as the 11-track album’s cover art. An aged Clark stands in the background, holding the Polaroid snapshot of his wife from the ’70s in front of him.

Musicians Rodney Crowell, Chris Stapleton and Shawn Camp help out with the co-writing, and there’s a cover of Lyle Lovett’s “The Waltzing Fool.”

A legendary songwriter, Clark received the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 after being inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2004. Earlier this year he received the Academy of Country Music’s Poet’s award along with Hank Williams. After an impressive career stretching over 40 years, his songs have been covered widely in the music world, by artists such as Johnny Cash, David Allen Coe, and Ricky Skaggs. More recently, Clark co-wrote with Ashley Monroe on the title track for her latest album, Like A Rose.
