Wilco’s Mikael Jorgensen and Graph Rabbit’s Austin Donohue teamed up to cover Spaceman 3’s “Ode to Street Hassle,” a tribute to Lou Reed’s 1978 record Street Hassle.

Jorgensen is gearing up to release his first solo record, Mikael Jorgensen & Greg O’Keeffe, on October 15, and if this song is any indication of where he’s headed, he’s definitely off to a good start.
The track brings the production techniques of today and the sounds of yesterday into perfect unison. Jorgensen uses modern technology and clips of classical songs that he compiled while touring Europe to cast a dream-like haze over Donohue’s delicate vocal.
