Portland, Oregon-based indie label Deer Lodge Records has released a two-CD, thirty-track George Jones tribute album, which you can stream below. Producers Ezra Meredith and Bert Sperling cherry-picked their favorite West Coast bands to recordĀ  songs from Jones’ lengthy back catalog, resulting in interpretations that range from punk and bluegrass to art-pop and reggae.

“George Jones is a lifelong hero of mine, as well as one of the best singers of all-time in any genre,” says Sperling, who adds that working on the album “was one of the most rewarding and transcendent of my life.”
