American Trappist, a new project by River City Extension’s Joe Michelini, has released a video for his track “Nothing Short of Faithful” in support of On The River Toms, the second of three EPs American Trappist will release this summer. The video features Michelini calmly riding a bicycle, singing the pensive, longing lyrics of “Nothing Short of Faithful” backed by an upbeat guitar melody.

“We wanted the video to be straightforward. We wanted people to focus on the lyrics,” says the band. “It’s a floating feeling, isn’t it? Learning to love someone, suspending all the doubt you can, and then deciding where you’ll end up before you ever arrive. I guess that’s why we filmed it one person moving forwards, one moving backwards, on an even plane. In a strange way it doesn’t seem to move at all. It gives me a sense of relief that only an objective view of the present can provide, and that’s what the song is about anyway.”

American Trappist will also be supporting The Wild Reeds on three dates of their tour (see below) and performing regularly at a summer residency with Asbury Park, New Jersey’s Yacht Club every Wednesday night.
