Kent Eugene Goolsby draws his inspiration from musical and literary heavyweights like Bruce Springsteen and Cormac McCarthy, as well as the newly minted Nobel Prize honoree Bob Dylan. It’s not surprising, then, that the Nashville songwriter doesn’t shy away from heavy themes in his music. On “The Stone,” a new track from his forthcoming album The Temper Of The Times, available November 11, Goolsby ponders self-discovery and stones unturned over a dark, twangy shuffle.

“‘The Stone’ is about the journey of self-discovery we take throughout our lives,” Goolsby says. “The older we get – the less risks we tend to take, but I think it’s important to keep an open mind and turn over every stone.”
