Steve Earle Reissuing Guitar Town With Unreleased Concert

Steve Earle Guitar Town

Videos by American Songwriter

Steve Earle will reissue his debut album Guitar Town on Oct. 14 in honor of its 30th anniversary.

The reissue will be remastered from the original tapes by Robert Vosgien and will be released on CD and digitally. It will be bundled with a recording of Earle’s August 1986 show at Chicago’s Park West (with Bucky Baxter and Michael McAdam on guitars, Reno Kling on bass, Ken Moore on keyboards and Harry Stinson on drums), which included performances of all 10 songs from Guitar Town, several from the then unreleased Exit 0 and a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “State Trooper.”

The live album was remastered for vinyl and  will also be released separately on 180-gram vinyl in a double LP package.

According to the press release, Earle will perform the album in full at several concerts later this year. He’s currently touring acoustically and will join Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin and Milk Carton Kids on the Lampedusa Concerts for Refugees tour before the Guitar Town dates.
