In support of her forthcoming album, Talan has released a new track “Growing Up.” The song delves into the adventure of parenthood and the fleetingness of children being young.

“The song was written for my oldest boy when he was turning eight, which feels to me like the age of a different kind of consciousness about the world, yourself and the people you love,” Talan says. “As a mother, it’s a time when you start to realize how much you’re going to have to let your child go free from you, even though you still want to be able to protect them like you did when they were little.”

The track is full of folky-pop undertones supported by conversational songwriting, a catchy tune that’s nothing short of a love song from a parent to a child.

“It’s both a beautiful and a wistful time,” Talan adds.
