Any guitar player knows, that when it comes to string choice, sound and tone are the most important elements in choosing the right brand. Durability, playability and lifespan also contribute to the quality of strings. While most players find a brand and stick with it, some change brands as often as they do when a string breaks.

In my opinion, the Ernie Ball Slinky Acoustic strings have everything guitar strings should have-a classic tone, crisp sound and a solid lifetime. The titanium winding on the plain strings attributes to the extended life, as well as keeps them in tune better than the conventional string. The “Element Shield” packaging system, unlike the standard cardboard/paper-sleeve approach, resists humidity and keeps the strings fresh, no matter what part of the country you’re playing.

Another thing to take into consideration is: How do the strings sound with your own custom style of playing? After all, every musician has his or her own unique sound; that’s what gives us our own flavor to add to the mix. Some strings sound great played in a mellow, finger-picking trance, while others seem lifeless. On the other hand, some strings can capture beautiful overtones but don’t provide enough kick when they’re strummed at the max. The Ernie Balls have a great combination of both and won’t leave you disappointed-whatever your style may be. All in all, these strings seem like they were made by a musician, for a musician.
