Sessions: The White Buffalo

The White Buffalo roamed into the office of American Songwriter last month, treating us to three tunes that highlighted his deft songwriting chops and booming whiskey voice.

The Buffalo (his real name is Jake Smith) played songs from his forthcoming album, Once Upon A Time In The West, which is slated for release in January 2012. “How The West Was Won” is a barroom shit-kicker, while “I Wish It Was True” is an elegiac folk ditty that shows off the big man’s soft side.
