Keep on Fishin’” | 2nd Place

Daddy took me to the lake when I was 8 years old
Bucket full o’ minnows, reel and a rod
Right about noon, felt a bite
Hook full of weeds was all I caught
I threw my pole down, hung my head
Would have given up till my Daddy said

Waitin’, watchin’, that’s how it’s done
Taking your time to find the right one
Bait’em, catch’em, reel’em in
If you get a stinker toss’em back in
Don’t you worry little girl of mine
Plenty of fish will tug on your line
Whatever you’re wantin’, whatever you’re wishin’
Keep the faith and keep on fishin’
Keep on fishin’

Sweet sixteen my heart got broke
A goodbye letter stained with tears
Daddy said crying won’t bring him back
Let’s head to the lake get outta here
We were silent at the waters edge
When I cast my line out, Daddy said

Waitin’, watchin’, that’s how it’s done
Taking your time to find the right one
Bait’em, catch’em, reel’em in
If you get a stinker toss’em back in
Don’t you worry little girl of mine
Plenty of fish will tug on your line
Whatever you’re wantin’, whatever you’re wishin’
Keep the faith and keep on fishin’
Keep on fishin’

I caught a big bass and I learned a big lesson
There ain’t a big difference ‘tween lovin’ and fishin’

Waitin’, watchin’, that’s how it’s done
Taking your time to find the right one
Bait’em, catch’em, reel’em in
If you get a stinker toss’em back in
I won’t worry it’ll all be fine
Plenty of fish will tug on my line
Whatever I’m wantin’, whatever I’m wishin’
I’ll keep the faith and keep on fishin’
