Watch Lady Gaga Belt Lonely Island’s “D— in a Box” During Insane ‘SNL50’ Performance

Despite rising to Fame with a dance-oriented debut, it’s no secret that Lady Gaga can sing. We all watched her incredible “California Dreamin’” duet with Bruno Mars at this month’s 67th annual GRAMMY Awards. On Friday (Feb. 14), Lady Gaga headlined SNL50: The Homecoming Concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Joining other legends like Lauryn Hill and a Post Malone-led Nirvana, the pop star (born Stefani Germanotta) helped celebrate 50 years of Saturday Night Live. Further proving that she can, in fact, sing anything, the American Horror Story star joined SNL alum Andy Samberg for a hysterical performance of Lonely Island’s “D— in a Box.”

“This Is an Entertainment Crossover:” Lady Gaga, Andy Samberg Team Up

The SNL50 bit began innocuously enough with Lady Gaga seated behind a piano. The Golden Globe winner plays the opening notes to “Shallow,” the smash hit from her 2018 film A Star Is Born. Then, The Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg warbles the first note and the spell is broken.

“Andy, Andy, I gotta stop you,” Gaga said.

“‘Cause it’s bad?” Samberg asked.

“Yes, it’s very bad,” Gaga replied, going on to suggest they try something better suited to Samberg’s vocal range.

Apparently, the SNL album had a song in mind, “but Justin’s not here to do his parts!” Samberg lamented. (He was referring to Justin Timberlake, who sang lead vocals on viral hits “D— in a Box” and “Motherlover.”

Scornfully, Gaga replies, “Andy, don’t be a b—-. I’ll do it with you.”

The pair then segued into a rendition of The Lonely Island’s 2009 hit “D— in a Box.” Gaga lent her vocal expertise to Timberlake’s raunchy verses.

“Lady Gaga just sang D*ck in a Box with Andy Samberg,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “THIS is an entertainment crossover.”
