4 of the Best Rock One-Hit Wonders From the 1990s

The 90s brought numerous rock hits, but many bands only had one song that reached peak popularity. Here are four notable one-hit wonders from that decade.

“Counting Blue Cars” by Dishwalla:  This 1996 hit peaked at no. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart.

“No Rain” by Blind Melon: A 1993 hit, reaching no. 1 on multiple Billboard charts. The band's success dwindled after singer Shannon Hoon's death in 1995.

“What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes:  Released in 1993, it was particularly popular in Europe, charting at no. 1. It was their only album.

“Possum King” by Toadies:  This song was Toadies' only major Top 40 hit. The band disbanded in 2001 but reunited for tours and albums.
