Why is Hank Williams Jr. Called Bocephus?

Origin of Bocephus:  Hank Williams Jr. acquired the nickname "Bocephus" from his father, who saw a resemblance to a ventriloquist dummy.

Legacy and Embrace:  The nickname, originally associated with Grand Ole Opry comedian Rod Brasfield, became a familial message and inspired a song. Williams Jr. embraces it despite its origin.

Evolution into Outlaw Country:  Williams Jr. initially imitated his father but embraced a new country rock style after a near-fatal incident in 1975. He earned acclaim in outlaw country, entering the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2020.
