This is the first time the ceremony will be held outside the United States. The show will be produced by TelevisaUnivision and with Radio Televisión Española in Spain. There will be a tape delay, as the star-studded affair will be available to watch in America at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

“It is an honor to celebrate our Latin GRAMMY Week in Sevilla and commit to our mission of elevating Latin music and its creators around the world,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, in a release. “We are confident that it will be a memorable celebration.”

The Latin Recording Academy announced its three-year partnership with the Junta de Andalucía, the sponsors of the 2023 awards, Latin Grammy week, and additional events in 2024-2025. The jammed-packed week will include the Leading Ladies of Entertainment luncheon, the Best New Artist Showcase for first-time nominees, the Person of the Year gala, and the Special Awards presentation.

To push tourism in Andalucía, The Junta has vowed to provide $19 million to music programming for the next three years. The destination has become a music tourism hotspot, as it is known for holding more than 900 annual festivals.

“We are thrilled to produce the Latin Grammys for the first time this year in Spain, and in a new partnership with the prestigious RTVE,” shared Ignacio Meyer, the President of U.S. Networks at TelevisUnivision, in a press release. “This is an extraordinary moment for Latin music globally, and we are confident that this partnership with RTVE, and the passion and energy that Univision brings to the show, will make history and deliver an unforgettable experience for audiences who love and enjoy music all around the world.”

The ceremony previously aired live in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and Houston. In 2020, the show was hosted in Miami with a virtual ceremony. The show’s destination is not the only change this year, as the Academy will implement three new categories – Best Songwriter, Best Singer-Songwriter Song, and Best Portuguese-Language Urban Performance.

The 2023 Latin Grammy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 19. However, the first round of voting will be available from July 27 to Aug. 7. The final round is slated for September 29 through October 23.
