2. “Marry Me” by Dolly Parton
Country love songs don’t always directly reference marriage, but the Queen of Country herself decided to pen a tune very obviously intended to be used at weddings. And we love her for it. If anything, playing a Dolly Parton song at your wedding could be a good luck charm in a way. Parton has been married to her husband Carl for almost 60 years now!
Either way, “Marry Me” is a sweet little country ditty about wanting to marry the man of your dreams. Just keep in mind that there’s a dig at the mother-in-law in this song. You might not want to open up that can of worms. But if you do, give this Parton classic a spin and cause some drama!
3. “Love Story” by Taylor Swift
There’s probably a list out there compiling every time this song has been played at a wedding in the last 17 years. That list probably has a pretty hefty number. Still, “Love Story” is worth including on this list, considering it’s the perfect country-pop wedding song. If you’re planning on staging a Shakespearean wedding party, “Love Story” is an absolute must-have to stay on theme.
4. “Baby, We’re Really In Love” by Hank Williams
Country love songs are a dime a dozen, but you just can’t beat the classics. This beautiful 1951 country blues song has aged very well through the years. “Baby, We’re Really In Love” by Hank Williams is an excellent, upbeat, and classy country wedding song that will likely get everyone in your party going… including the old heads that may prefer traditional country tunes over modern country pop songs.
