The nominees for the final two Academy of Country Music Awards categories were revealed this morning, with a crop of talent earning nods for Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year awards.
Chris Stapleton’s “Nobody To Blame” and Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” the latter of which won two Grammy Awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, are among nominees for Song of the Year. Little Big Town and Stapleton, who also scored at the Grammys with Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance, share the category with Cam’s “Burning House,” Keith Urban ft. Eric Church’s “Raise ‘Em Up” and Eric Paslay’s “She Don’t Love You.”
Songwriter of the Year nominees include Rodney Clawson, Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. Clawson and McAnally are both familiar with the ACM Awards, earning their eighth and ninth nominations, respectively. McAnally previously won in 2013 for both Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year for Kacey Musgraves’ Same Trailer, Different Park.
Stapleton and Church top this year’s ACM Awards nominations, racking up five nominations each. Church is in the running for the ACM’s highest honor, Entertainer of the Year, while both musicians are up for Male Vocalist of the Year.
