1. “Like a Rolling Stone”

“Like a Rolling Stone” is one of Dylan’s name-making offerings. As such, it stands to reason Springsteen would add this song to his list. In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Springsteen called it a “History and culture changing piece of music.” We have to agree with The Boss on that front.

2. “Visions of Johanna”

Next up we have what Springsteen called “A big song for me“: “Visions of Johanna.” The sprawling ode to some mysterious force is, at times, hard to grasp. Dylan seemingly rambles on in a stream of consciousness, making it hard for the listener to latch onto any finite details. Nevertheless, the infectious musicality of this song makes it a must listen. Springsteen certainly thinks this Dylan song is top tier.

3. “Ring Them Bells”

Springsteen wrapped up his thoughts on “The Best of Dylan” by calling “Ring Them Bells” one of his favorite songs. This track is packed to the brim with religious vernacular. Though that era of Dylan’s career isn’t always well received, “Ring Them Bells” is a shining example of its merits.

Ring them bells St. Peter
Where the four winds blow

Oh, it’s rush hour now
