Finding his footing in country music, Riley Green watched his stardom expand thanks to hit songs like “There Was a Girl”, “Half of Me”, and “Different Round Here.” Only spending a little over a decade in country music, the singer continues to showcase his talents. The Academy of Country Music even gifted Green the New Male Artist of the Year Award back in 2019. While loving his time on stage, Green recently shared how he wanted to add a new job to his already blossoming career.
It should come as no surprise that Green would want to explore a career in Hollywood. Just over the last few years, both Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson made appearances on shows like Fire Country and Yellowstone. With both singers helping usher in a new era of country music, Green looked to follow in their footsteps.

While Green didn’t have any roles lined up just yet, he told 95.5 WTVY, “We’ve actually kinda gone down that road a little bit. I’ve read for a couple of shows here lately. Not that I have a lot of time for it, but I think it is something that I would enjoy, and also something I think could help my music career.”
Riley Green Saw Acting As A Launching Pad
Although he loved movies and shows, Green saw the shift as an opportunity to expand his career. Again, using Wilson as an example, the country singer insisted, “Doing ‘Yellowstone’ was a great launching pad for Lainey… and the country and western thing is becoming so popular through those shows that it’s really just such a great tie-in. I’m just glad that it’s helping out country music.”
With Green reading scripts and open to the idea of a career in acting, the singer was right about the popularity of country. Not only has the genre seen a resurgence recently, but shows like Yellowstone have shined a light on the beauty and hardships of being a cowboy in today’s world.
Open to the idea, only time will tell if Green moves forward with the idea. Already acting in the music video for the song “Worst Way”, the singer proved he was a natural when it came to performing for the camera.
