According to the numbers from May 4th to the 10th, country fans couldn’t get enough of “I Never Lie” as it topped the charts on country radio. Although known for his live performances, “I Never Lie” brought Top his first No. 1 hit. Breaking into the industry just a few years ago, Top wasn’t wasting any time when it came to expanding his career. Taking inspiration from stars like Randy Travis and George Strait, some fans even claimed Strait was the singer’s father. But that was just a rumor for now.
As for the hit song “I Never Lie”, the video already brought in over 11 million views on YouTube. But that was just a taste. Looking at Spotify, the song was streamed nearly 160 million times. Not able to get enough of Top, fans wrote, “This guy has the perfect voice for country. I’m hearing three different artists kind of blended together. Keith Whitley, Daryl, Singletary, and Jeff Carson. I didn’t know this kind of music still existed. This is what I grew up on 80s and 90s. Good to know there’s still some traditional country fans. This guy needs to come to Fort Worth!”

Is George Strait The Father Of Zach Top?
Always willing to share a picture with a fan, Top also discussed the rumor that surrounded him about Strait being his father. Having a laugh over the ordeal, he admitted, “I texted it to my mom and my dad in the group chat and I can’t remember what I said. Something like, ‘Can I get an explanation here?’ My mom’s like ‘That’s ridiculous!’ And I texted her back, ‘Is it so ridiculous?’”
Although his mom found it ridiculous, Top’s father wanted to get to the bottom of it. “My dad texted… ‘If you didn’t already have it planned, I’m going to need a backstage pass for that show because I’m going to need some things explained.’”
Winning awards and landing No. 1 hits, Top is quickly solidifying himself as not just the next country hitmaker but a glimpse into what made country music great.
