SONG I WISH I WROTE: “I Guess I Just Wasn’t Meant For These Times” by Beach Boys/Brian Wilson

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: John Prine, Quentin Tarantino, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Jimmy Page

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: My friend Daryl Wayne Dasher and I attended a birthday party for B.B. King. Steve Cropper and James Burton showed up to play guitar with Steven Seagal (yes, the actor!). Afterwards B.B. played an amazing set with his band. We hung out backstage and got to meet and talk with Mr. James Burton for the first time. Exited the building and was invited on B.B.’s bus. A very surreal encounter to say the least. We went to the back and I sat right next to him and we talked about MP3 players and what he’s listening to these days, when he was young starting out. Needless to say, I will never forget that evening.

I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE… I was listening to a lot of Afro Cuban music around the time I wrote this. I read that about some Cuban artists would include songs on their albums as “prayers” or good-luck gestures towards the listener and to “bless” the album. This was my attempt to make a song in that fashion for listeners of my music.
