Gov’t Mule released its ninth studio album, Peace…Like a River, in June. Shortly before the album’s release, bassist Jorgen Carlsson, who joined Gov’t Mule in 2008, announced his departure from the group. He has been replaced by Kevin Scott. In addition to Haynes and Scott, the band features founding drummer Matt Abts and longtime multi-instrumentalist Danny Louis.

Gov’t Mule’s upcoming 2023 tour schedule includes a handful of show in the Southern U.S. this month, and a November tour of Europe. The band will close out the year with a trio of makeup dates—on December 29 at The Met in Philadelphia, and on December 30 and 31 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

The band also will be hosting the 14th edition of its Island Exodus destination concert series from January 14 to January 18, 2024, in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The event also will feature performances by Haynes solo, Robert Randolph Band, Samantha Fish, and more.

In addition, Haynes has announced plans for the 2023 edition of his annual Christmas Jam charity concert, which will be held on December 9 at ExploreAsheville.com Arena in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.
