The Kills To Release First Album in Five Years, Share New Song

For the first time since 2011, The Kills will release a new album. The duo–consisting of American-singer Alison Mosshart and British-guitarist Jamie Hince–revealed that their fifth album, Ash & Ice, will drop on June 3 via Domino Records. In advance of the release, the group shared the video for the album’s first track, “Doing It To Death.” Check out the video below, which features Mosshart and Hince rocking out through a funeral procession.

In the time since The Kills released 2011’s Blood Pressures to critical acclaim, Mosshart has been in Nashville recording with The Dead Weather. The blues band, which also features singer-guitarist Jack White, released their first album since 2010, Dodge and Burn, last September. Hince, meanwhile, has been re-teaching himself guitar after a serious hand injury forced him to undergo multiple surgeries (as reported by Consequence of Sound).

With Hince healthy, The Kills will embark on an extensive tour in support of Ash & Ice. The trek will begin March 16 in Mexico City, and will include stops at Coachella and Britain’s Isle of Wight Festival. A full list of dates can be seen below.
