Loretta Lynn’s 8-Year-Old Great-Grandson Is a Natural Onstage: Watch

Loretta Lynn’s musical genes certainly trickled down. Granddaughter Emmy Russell demonstrated this on season 22 of American Idol, with a deep run that ended just shy of finale night. The country icon’s other granddaughter, Tayla Lynn, is a singer-songwriter as well. And recently, Tayla’s young son showed that he too may have a future in show business.

Scout Would Like To Sell You Some Merch

As previously mentioned, Loretta Lynn’s family tree is full of musicians. Granddaughter Tayla Lynn performs with Tre Twitty (grandson of the legendary Conway) as the country music duo Twitty and Lynn. And with Tayla’s 8-year-old son Scout in charge of sales, Twitty and Lynn should go multi-platinum in no time.

Tayla recently shared a video on social media of Scout confidently taking the stage after one of his mom’s shows. After giving a thumbs up to (presumably) whomever was in charge of sound, the young boy begins his sales pitch.

“Excuse me, everyone. Down at the merch table at the end of the show, we printed out these,” Scout said, holding up a small print-out for the crowd to see. “And we have a bunch. We’ll sign ’em. So can you please try to buy one? Thank you.”

Scout succeeded in charming the audience, as well as his mother. “I’m so in love with this kid. Honey he ain’t scared of the stage,” Tayla wrote in an Instagram post Saturday (Aug. 31.) “He gets up there and says ‘excuse me everyone.’ They got stuff to sell son.”

Many took to the comments section to marvel at Scout’s impressive business acumen. “Oh man that is classic! He’s the new merchandise manager…. His new position lol,” one fan wrote.

Grandchildren of Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty Keep Their Legacies Alive

Although never romantically involved, Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitter reached power couple status in Nashville. Together, they scored five No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart.

Tayla Lynn and Tre Twitty weren’t aiming to replicate their grandparents’ story when they joined forces in 2016. But they are enjoying writing their own story, releasing their first full-length album, Cookin’ Up Lovin’, in April.

“We can be the caretakers of the past and we can carry the flag for our grandparents and their music and their legacy,” Tayla told People. “But we can also write our own chapters and serve as a continuation of what they started in a way.”
